New house, New Life and New Gadgets

Hello filmzombi fans,
Yes, things are changing quick over here at camp filmzombi. I just moved into my first house just in time to welcome my brand new little daughter “Xochi.”

I am working on building filmzombi studios in converted garage behind my house. Due to the most recent layoff at my previous studio, I will have some time to update my webpage and work on some personal projects.
Ok, I guess I will finish this post with a baby in my arm.

I just got whitelisted for Google friend connect. Check out the gadget on the right side of page and become a friend of filmzombi.com. Stay tuned for more news, more videos and more updates to filmzombi.com.- Rigel

Overflowing YouTube Playlist

Hello everyone.

There is a lot of things changing in my life right now. I don’t have internet access right now, but I still have lots to post.

My “@Google” Playlist on YouTube has been filled to the brim. I have learned that 200 is the max amount of videos allowed in one playlist. So I have created, “@Google Vol. 2″ playlist to put the rest of the videos in.

“@Google Vol. 1″ Playlist

“@Google Vol. 2″ Playlist

I have some new non-Google videos coming soon as well. I will try to keep you posted. Take care and thank you for taking the time to read this.

Fleeting YouTube Honors

Two weeks ago, I recieved my first YouTube honors. Going for a niche market, I created “Elliott Digs a Hole.” With some word of mouth and posting on social networks I quickly had my first honors.

#37 – Top Favorited (Today) – Pets & Animals
#88 – Top Rated (Today) – Pets & Animals

Later on I recieved one more honor for “# 91 Most Visited (Today) – Korea  - Pets and Animals” As quickly as they came, the honors faded. However, I did hold on to the first honors for over 24 hours, this blog posting is the only record of that achievement.

 And now for some digging!

Deadlines looming: Register to vote on Google!

This is a project I worked on recently. I scanned all the footage and created the pie graph animation by using Google Spreadsheets and capturing it with a Folsom scan converter.

Jessica Yu: Ping Pong Playa

Playa means beach in Spanish. When my friend told me about this film he prounounced it “ply-ya.” However, this film title word is more like “Play-yuh” which is short for “player.” He had told me how Jessica Yu, the director of the film, was one of the Bay Area’s most brightest new filmmakers.

A few days later, I was lucky enough to meet Jessica Yu and see 10 minutes of her upcoming film.  She was a guest as part of the filmmakers@google and women@google series.

Michi Sushi 10 year anniversary and Second Location Grand Opening

This past weekend, Michi Sushi in Campbell had their 10 year anniversary party. Unlike previous years, this time they were also celebrating the grand opening of their second location.

The party was amazing. There were hundreds of people lining up outside the new location to try some of the food that made Mr. Shin famous. He must have fed half of Campbell that night.

In addition to the party at the new location, the original Michi Sushi was partying late into the night as well. It was an amazing party.

Happy Birthday Michi Sushi and Congratulations, Mr. Shin.

Check out some of the videos I made for Michi. Another one will be coming out soon!

The Nominations are in!

This is cut and pasted from email:

The Event

So first of all, let me tell you that the event will be held at the Media Center in Palo Alto.  Here are the complete details:

75 Videos! Google Chrome and Picasa 3

Wow! “The Chrome is out of the bag” and so are a lot of my videos. Today, has been a crazy day. I have never seen so many videos go up at once. The reason there are so many is because for Google Chrome we did 10 videos in 27 languages.

Now if I were to post all those videos here, your (non-chrome) browser may crash, so I am just going to post some videos about Google Chrome in English.

The story behind Google Chrome

10 Features of Google Chrome

In addition to all the work on Google Chrome, two videos that I worked on about Picasa 3 and Picasa Web Albums also went live today as well.

Of Rogues and Patches

These videos just came out. I was so busy when I worked on these. I have been waiting patiently for them to get uploaded to YouTube and today I just found the Google Apps channel. If you look closely, you can find me in these videos. Also, I labeled most of those DVDs in the patch collection.
